Folk Rock, Country Rock, : Cross Country - Cross Country 1973 (2009 Wounded Bird) (Ex members known of The Tokens fame)

This Brooklyn-born trio comprised of Jay Siegel (b. 20 October 1939; baritone vocals) and the Margo brothers, Phil (b. 1 April 1942; bass vocals) and Mitch (b. 25 May 1947; tenor vocals). Formerly three quarters of the 60s group the Tokens, after founder member Hank Medress had left in 1970, they changed their name to Cross Country and reached the US Top 30 in October 1973 with a harmony update of Wilson Pickett’s 1965 soul smash ‘In The Midnight Hour’. They disbanded a year later and moved into producing and writing, especially Phil who concentrated his attention towards the movies, notably acting and writing screenplays. (allmusic, com)

I don't have to say a lot of words about the musicians because The Tokens are certainly a household name here.
The music on the album is based on seventies West Coast Country Rock and Pop. The Gsangsharmonien remind sometimes of Crosby Stills Nash & Young. One of my personal highlights is "Choir Boy" but the whole album is really worth listening to if you like this kind of music. Enjoy.(Frank)
