Girls was an American indie rock band, formed in San Francisco in 2007. The band comprised two key members: Christopher Owens, songwriter and lead singer, and Chet "JR" White, who played bass and produced. Girls' sound was heavily inspired by the music of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, with their sound being described as lo-fi, surf rock, rock and roll, psychedelic rock, pop rock, country rock and garage rock

 Girls' debut full-length, Album, was released in 2009 to critical acclaim. Its 2011 follow-up, Father, Son, Holy Ghost, was also well received. On July 2, 2012, Owens announced that he was leaving the band and would continue to record as a solo artist.(excerpt by wiki)

When I heard the album about 10 years ago for the first time, I couldn't really classify what I liked about it. Sure there were songs on the album that I liked right away, but the album wasn't love at first sight. Now, 10 years later almost all songs have become real pearls for me.
Also her second and last full album ''Father, Son, Holy Ghost'' I can highly recommend.

.Christopher Owens has never been a musician who made it easy for me, but I always noticed immediately that his songs are something special and I always needed some time to like them. Imho Owens is a really great artist who never ran after commerce but always went his own way. Enjoy.(Frank)
