Shane Martin - Columbia & Epic Singles 1967 - 1969

At first glance, it was a bit mysterious about Shane Martin's story. On closer inspection, however, it was the normal story of a multi-faceted person who is nevertheless very impressive. It doesn't really hit the nail on the head when I'm just talking about Shane Martin. It is also the story of Neale Lundgren, who is perhaps known to some as a member of the early seventies band Manchild.
It all starts with the fact that Neal gets a contract with Columbia - Epic as a teenager and that his management simultaneously gives him the stage name Shane Martin, which he later resigns after finishing his collaboration with Columbia/Epic. His biggest hit from this time is the Jimmy Webb song'' I need you''. Although I think he had really strong singles, as this compilation proves. White soul with distinctive pop sound.

His second major record deal was with the band Manchild. Neale Lundgren wrote the complete album except for two songs and then left the band although the label wanted a second album. What followed was a truly extraordinary life, but always accompanied by music. Among other things, he later lived as a monk. But this is only one of his stations in his life. If you are interested, you can have a look at his homepage: http://nealelundgren.com/musician/.

I'm a bit of a digression, but the record is definitely recommendable pop of the mid-sixties.
